What we see in the west

The western suburbs are an interesting build. The inner-west around Toowong and Taringa is dense with pre-war Queenslanders and character homes layered with mid-century renovations — ACM eaves and wet-area sheets in almost every one. The mid-west hillside suburbs — Kenmore, Chapel Hill, Brookfield, Fig Tree Pocket — are heavy with mid-century and post-war homes on slopes; we see ACM in walls, eaves, roofs, and stand-alone sheds and outbuildings.

Bardon, Ashgrove, and The Gap carry heritage and character stock with their own ACM stories. The outer-west — Pullenvale, Bellbowrie, Anstead, Karana Downs — has large lots, often with old sheds, barns, and roof structures that pre-date the asbestos ban.

Brisbane West — FAQs

Which western suburbs do you cover? +
Toowong, Indooroopilly, Taringa, St Lucia, Auchenflower, Milton, Kenmore, Kenmore Hills, Brookfield, Chapel Hill, Fig Tree Pocket, Pullenvale, Bardon, Paddington (inner-west fringe), Ashgrove, The Gap, Upper Brookfield, Bellbowrie, Anstead, Karana Downs and surrounding western suburbs.
What's the typical housing stock in the west? +
It's mixed. Toowong, Taringa and St Lucia have a strong base of pre-war and inter-war houses (often with ACM eaves and renovated wet areas), plus newer apartments. The mid-west — Kenmore, Chapel Hill, Brookfield, Fig Tree Pocket — is hillside post-war and mid-century modernist territory; ACM walls, eaves, and roofs in homes from the 1950s through to the 1980s. Bardon and Ashgrove are character-home heavy. The outer-west (Pullenvale, Anstead) skews to large lots with sheds and outbuildings.
Do you handle steep / difficult access sites? +
Yes. The western suburbs include some of Brisbane's steepest residential blocks (Chapel Hill, Fig Tree Pocket, parts of Bardon and The Gap). We scope access carefully in the quote — scaffolding, edge protection, and crane assist where required. Difficult access changes the price but doesn't change whether we can do it.
What about heritage homes in Bardon and Ashgrove? +
We work in character and heritage homes regularly. The trick is staging removal so the original fabric is protected — we work alongside builders and heritage carpenters where the job spans both trades. We won't damage joinery, weatherboards, or original detailing to chase ACM out.
